Well I have 5 computers I could install Amahi on, but Fedora wont work with a single one of them. OK, so four of them are identical EeeBox B202 with 160GB HD, but still, on those Fedora if the install gets this far, just says there is an error in initialising the network adapter, but actually, often it just randomly blacks out the screen leaving me with a mouse pointer I can move around the screen and thats that. I've installed every version of Ubuntu on these devices from 8.10 onwards no problem.

Then I have a 3 year old, custom built PC with 4 250GB drives arranged in RAID5, the BIOS recognises the raid array as a boot device, Windows recognises the raid array as boot device, I don't know what Ubuntu thinks, not yet tried to install it on this box, but Fedora, no according to Fedora there are no hard drives in my machine.

Stuck, well and truly stuck, and no idea how to move forward from here.

Have to used the DVD? How about the ExpressCD? If it's a hardware issue, you might find something in the Fedora forums or google may assist.

I presume you have been using Fedora 12. Is it possible to skip using raid? Just trying to eliminate the obvious probably causes to failure.

Happy to give other ways a go if they are not going to mess me up.

On the PC with the RAID, removing all the drives from the RAID makes no difference, Fedora insists there are no drives in the machine.

Yep Fedora 12.

I'll do some more Googling, see if I cant find a solution.

Try the express CD. It's headless so there will be no desktop. Its a small download to CD and might work better for ya. You can find it at http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Express_CD.

Maybe this is just hardware not supported by Fedora. I would think unless it is uncommon/unique, things would work fine.

Whey, hey! Headless is the way to go with EEEBox's

I did eventually find out what the problem was, but since it involved changing graphics drivers, and I have no interest in the HDA running a desktop, headless seems perfect.
