Been gone for a while and need info about a new install

Postby rgmhtt » Sun Oct 17, 2010 2:28 pm

I have been busy with other RL issues and just bought some hardware and am upgrading a number of things...

So I backed up the data on my hda server that has been running for MANY months untouched and did a fresh install.

I followed the install instructions, laying down FC12 and doing the Amahi Install, and rebooted. I did not see any way to get all the FC12 updates, so I SUed in a terminal window and ran YUM UPDATE. Got a couple interesting messages:

installExceptionHandler() takes no arguments (1 given)

This occured 4 different times in 2 groups of 2.

But now I am supposedly 'current'.

So I want advanced options. I want to run Amahi as a PDC. Well where is the "Advanced Features" under Shares per http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/PDC?

Can I also now control the DNS and DHCP better? Or do I edit the SQL and script as I did in the past?

I REALLY am ready to power off the NT server that has been running here since '95....

Hello,

Go to the Settings tab and enable advanced features there (BTW this is in the wiki). Please let us know how the PDC works for you.

Good luck!

OK. That was starring me in my face....

I have PDC turned on. I will want a logon script PER user and each user mount their H: drive. I also want to make a share D$ for /var/hda/files/ with admin access only. Well I will take this over to the Developers forum. I also see that DNS and DHCP controls have not been implemented. Sigh. I have my own domain name I want to use...
