Installations hangs..

Hello everyone, I'm trying to install the new Amahi Express 2.5 Beta. After eth0 is configured, Amahi is starting to download it's repo information. At that point my screen turns black with only the mouse-arrow. I waited for more than one hour but I only see the mouse-arrow. I really don't think it would take so long to get it's repository-info. Can anybody tell me what I do wrong?
I'm quitte new to this.
Thanks Osirius

Perhaps fedora does not support well your ethernet hardware?
Do you have the option of trying the full-dvd install?
It's unusual, but some ethernet devices are not well supported. Trying to download the repos without network may just hang or timeout.

Is it possible to disable the onboard Ethernetport via the BIOS and use another PCI-networkcard?

Hello,
Yes it is and that is probably your best option. Often, the integrated network adapters are not well supported. I would recommend trying the PCI card and hopefully that will correct your problem.

Hello,
Sorry to hear it did not work. Have you tried the Full DVD install? Also, please describe your system hardware. I presume when you enabled your PCI network card, you disabled the onboard LAN via the BIOS.
I am sure we can sort this out once we know more.

You mean the installation of Fedora 12 first and then Amahi? Itried that before and everything worked well!!! I just wanted to try the new Express CD., cause I want to run the server headless. I putted some old pc parts into one pc to make a homeserver (it worked with Windows Home Server), but because I have 3 Mac's in my house, I want to have a linux based server. The processor is an old AMD 3800+, 2,2 Ghz on a asus motherboard A7V8x-x. First I used a PCI Network card, but that didn't work (same problem with full dvd install). Perhaps there's something wrong with the cd itself?!?!
