hi there,
I am having a problem with short URL's not working from my windows client. My situation is as follows:
- I have just set up a new Amahi server.
- I am using the Amahi dhcp server.
- I have switched off the dhcp server in my router and re-booted my clients.
- short urls (eg. http://hda) do work from a linux client.
- however the problem is that from the laptop, the address "http://hda" sends me to the OpenDNS websearch page for "hda" listing things like: www.hdainc.com.
- I am able to reach my hda from my windows laptop by using this address: "http://hda.home.com"
- I followed the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 9 - HDA used as DNS on clients?. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://paste.amahi.org/d2064a442
Any hints would be appreciated!
Best regards
Chris

Hi chris, the paste is gone.
Were you able to fix this?
Short urls work when the client has a "standard" configuration and gets it's DHCP from your HDA.
If your client it a corporate laptop, it's DNS may be changed for corporate purposes and you may have to use full URLs.
