Trouble shooting iTunes, Gmail attach, TweetDeck after Amahi

Postby jonathankonrad » Wed Mar 31, 2010 11:35 pm

I recently installed an Amahi server. Loving the Amahitunes and easy file sharing. I'm having a problem though every since I turned off my DHCP on the router and setup the Amahi box. That is iTunes podcasts subscriptions, adding attachments in gmail, and using TweetDeck all stopped working. Each of these now simply time out when trying to connect to their respective servers online. With Gmail, after it fails, it gives the option to attach using the old model. If I choose that, the file will attach and the email will send.

I have found no workaround for iTunes subscriptions and TweetDeck. Twitter works fine in a web browser.

I'm at a loss. The server is not a router, nor a proxy, nor a gateway. The only thing different is my client machine (windows 7), now get's it's DHCP information from the Amahi server. Any thoughts out there on what might have suddenly gone "wrong"? Thanks, I'm stumped.

weird. try changing your DNS provider?

please do report back.

also use ping from your client as well as some other location outside your network to compare.

Thank you for your patience. Turns out it is an error on my Client box. I took my machine to work today, hooked it up and it's getting the same error there. I'm not a fan of coincidence, but in this case that looks like the culprit. So, no problem related to Amahi, something is broken on my windows 7 box.

Thanks for the reply. :geek:
