Fedora12 w/ Amahi install NOT Succeed! Can't get Amahi http

Hey guys,

It's my very first to install fefora, and it's V12, for x86-64. I met network connection problem in my previous installation, so I tried a second time. But when I try to "enable your network interface", it gave me an error: "An error occurred trying tobring up the eth0 network interface.". I tried again and it just freezed there and won't work anymore.

I use Comcast cable service, and a Apple Exteme station as router with gateway "10.0.1.1". This desktop is new HP e9150t with Gigabit Network card. Don't know why.

Anyone can give me any hint?

Thanks!

coolstone

I don't know if I can install Amahi after I install Fedora. Is there anyway I can get the install package?

Thanks!

Maybe I just quit this complicated, time-costing system and go back to WHS....

Hi,

The Apple Extreme/Express is *extremely* hard to make it work as a bridge and with all the functionality that uses the most out of Amahi.

See the wiki page on Airport Extreme/Express.

However, it seems like your system has some incompatibilities with Fedora 12 networking. Perhaps the hardware is not well supported in Fedora 12?

If you can post hard details, perhaps we can help you.

I was able to have connection, but now I can't again, even I reinstall the system.

Here is the result of ifconfig:

I encountered the same problem during installation. However when prompted to 'Enable network interface' I deselected the 'Use dynamic IP configuration (DHCP). It seems as if it was not picking up an IP address from router. U use Linksys WRT310N w/ ddrt v24

Change a router?? Just for Amahi? No, it's too ridiculous! Why not choose WHS??

Sorry for the mistype. I wanted to say "I" instead of "U". Just stating what router I have and use. I assigned a static IP address to the server because it didn't seem to pick one up from the router's dhcp server. Maybe try that before completely giving up.

WHS isn't a patch on Amahi, plus, it costs money. And, because it uses win 2k3 as a base, it's outdated. It's due an update.
