Installation problems

Postby smarty79 » Fri Feb 26, 2010 12:20 pm

I am trying to install Amahi on VirtualBox. I have installed Fedora 12 without any issues.

I am now trying to install Amahi but keep it appears to have frozen at 78%. If i go into the terminal and use tail -f /root/hda-install.log it seems to be stuck at the following part.

ERROR: could not find gem rails locally or in a repository - repeated 5 times.
Successfully installed pluginfactory-1.0.5
1 gem installed
Missing the Rails 2.3.4 gem. Please 'gem install -v=2.3.4 rails', update your RAILS_GEM_VERSION setting in config/enviroment.rb for the Rails version you do have installed, or comment out RAILS_GEM_VERSION to use the latest version installed.
(in /var/hda/platform/html)
WARNING: cannot autoconfigure the network!

It has been sitting at 78% now for about an hour.

Any ideas on this?

I am very new to Fedora/Linux so please be gentle!!

Yes, Fedora installed fine. I can browse the internet with no problems. I havent done any of the updates as yet as I thouhgt it was best to get Amahi working first.

i think amahi may have installed ok. check the installation troubleshooting page.

check the log at /root/hda-install.log, it may have installed ok, it's just the interface that stalls.

this bug has been puzzling us for a bit. the latest release out last saturday (hdactl-3.2) updates a javascript library to take care of it, we hope.

yeah, but you may already be at the latest version

Code: Select all

rpm -q hdactl - should be 3.2, and rpm -q hda-platform - should be 5.2
