I would download to my Phone and unzip it. Then use Windows to move it to the appropriate folder on the HDA. Also have to set ownership permission for folder and files to apache:users.

You may be able to do the same on MAC. Sorry the HTC should have been HDA.

I downloaded the .zip file on my mac's hard drive.

By HDA you mean http://hda/ ?

Would I use the HDA to both to (1) unzip and (2) move the files to the document root ?

Or should I unzip first (which creates a just MathJax subdir) and then use HDA to copy.

Then there's the permissions issues. When using terminal, I've gotten around some of the permissions issues when doing some of my recent file work, not by using chmod, but using sudo. I guess that's irrelevant if I'm going to use HDA to do, but not sure how. There is an HDA button on my HDA page, but haven't learned about it yet.

I'll try searching forum or wiki for directions.

Actually, it's unzipped, and I just have this one directory, MathJax, that I need to move into document root, that is,
/var/hda/web-apps/mediawiki/html

No HDA via SSH or WINDOWS. You can copy folder to a share then use SSH to move to app folder.

Most of what you are trying to do is command line. No GUI to do it.

Perhaps here's "scp" to move the MathJax subdir ? (via this: http://askubuntu.com/questions/157381/i ... ocal-drive), but still searching for how to do via HDA, which I think I'd like to try.

When I say HDA I mean the server. Think my last suggestion is your best option.

I opened a terminal window on my mac (not logged into the server using SSH), and tried for a while to "see" the shares but could not. OTOH, as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the shares are visible from my finder window, and I'm logged into to them: so I copied the MathJax directory into the Public share. I should say I am copying the 56 mb file because it's taking a while. First 15 mg were fast enough, but it's been going on for 30 minutes now, and it's showing 36 mb left and 44 estimated minutes left.

Not sure if this is the way.

Second Q: I ssh'ed into the server, to look at the shares (/var/hda/shares), but couldn't change directory (cd command) beyond shares. I thought I would be able to go further to see the individual shares subdirectories). Actually, I did an "ls -la" and didn't see any share subdirs -- only the following. Maybe I'm in the wrong place:

[admin@localhost shares]$ pwd
/var/hda/shares
[admin@localhost shares]$ ls -la
total 8
drwxr-xr-x. 2 apache apache 4096 Aug 18 19:06 .
drwxr-xr-x. 13 root root 4096 Nov 3 16:42 ..
[admin@localhost shares]$

At any rate, still copying from laptop hard drive to server drive. (22mb of 56m copied, 47 minutes to go).
