f10.Amahi.org / f11.amahi.org down - Fixed (per bk)
Re: f10.Amahi.org / f11.amahi.org down - Fixed (per bk)
I'm wondering the same - when I tried the secondary install, the network wasn't automatically up... and doing it manually didn't work either (localhost:2000 won't respond), though all the services are started (according to what I needed to do). I'm going to try it again...

Are you installing with a DVD ISO or trying to install with a Live CD ISO?

DVD ISO...
if I don't use the amahi repo - it works without problem...

Seems as if your network is blocking the repo or vice versa. I can download the package with no problems.
The only thing you need to do when you add the repo is add the name "amahi" (without quotes) and add the url "http://f12.amahi.org" (without quotes) then click next or ok or whatever the go button is, then when it asks for the network interface, it has to be eth0, so you will click ok, then it will grab.
Nothing else should be done when adding the repo, just those 2 things. Thats all your doing correct?

Re: f10.Amahi.org / f11.amahi.org down - Fixed (per bk)
yup,
when I ran the install without the amahi repo, then download the repo manually, it works (though the service doesn't start correctly, and I can't get to http://localhost:2000)
I've done this previously in my network, and haven't changed any rules since... so I'm at a loss on this one as to why it won't install...
I have another idea yet, so I'll post any success/failure from that when I get it done as well.

couple of things:
1) i see mention of this error only in a couple of places. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=534173 seems specific to the python libraries used in anaconda. the bug is fairly recent. are you behind a proxy by any chance?
2) when you install amahi separately, you may need to yum install ruby and ruby-libs, i think, to be able to run the installer. maybe one more perhaps (ruby-mysql?). what does /tmp/amahi-ruby-installer.log say?

here's what I get from /tmp...
it's not a DNS issue, from ctrl-alt-f2 I can ping anything, so it's working that way... but the error about downloading too big a file is my concern.

ok, so it doesn't even get started ... hmm. try this:
then check the file?
(note - ruby, not rubby)
Code: Select all
yum -y install ruby ruby-libs ruby-mysql
service amahi-installer stop
service amahi-installer start
(note - ruby, not rubby)

Re: f10.Amahi.org / f11.amahi.org down - Fixed (per bk)
nice typo... holy hell.
When did you want me to try that? after the Fedora install? If so, let me know and I'll do it this afternoon.
