I am hoping to do this without wiping the boot drive (there is data on one partition), but that may be unavoidable.
Quite honestly I would recommend you not even try to leave data on the OS drive. Back it up and wipe the entire drive when installing Fedora 21 per the instructions.

As for the GPT, may need to do some research on this one. Have you searched the internet regarding Fedora support? It' may just be some packaged need installed for it to work.
Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. It may be possible, but messy I'm sure. I'm being safe and 'dd-ing' /dev/sda4 to an external drive. Probably take all evening, but sure beats loosing my data.

Agreed. This is the safest route.

Best to get a clean install and preclude problems down the road.

Well, I backed up my data partition, reinstalled (fresh install), and the Amahi control panel still cannot see my HDA. Even better, the DNS is also not resolving to HDA yet (can't ping hda from the command line of the server.

It is communicating with the amahi mothership, because it did get the IP address I selected.

Any ideas? I followed the installation instructions to the letter.

Okay, it took a bit. It's now showing up on the control panel, and is repsonding to HDA from my desktop and from itself. It still shows up as "new-host-8", but I think I can live with that for the short term.

Well, I was. DHCP and DNS took a major hit copying my external files back to the pool. Now I'm back to Control Panel not updating, and no DNS/DHCP on my network, unless i use the default settings on my router.

It never ends.

Well, it's doing it again. No update on the amahi.org control panel, and it stops giving out DHCP addresses and acting as a DNS server for my network. This seems to happen after I restart.

Not sure what to do. I don't want to reinstall yet again. Seems like 7.1 was a bit more stable.

Sorry to hear you are having issues again.

Let's not jump to conclusions until we diagnose and fine the root cause. Amahi 8 is just as stable if not more than Amahi 7.

Do this:
  • A. Check your clients to see what they reflect for DHCP and DNS capability.
  • B. Verify that the DHCP and DNS servers are enabled on the HDA.
  • C. Make sure there are no other DHCP servers enabled in your network.
  • D. Validate there are no firewalls enabled in your network that might be blocking access.
We can then try to determine what the issue might be.

BTW, is this a new install? If so, then we need to close this thread and open a new one to prevent confusion.

Do this:
  • A. Check your clients to see what they reflect for DHCP and DNS capability.

After a reboot of the HDA, and attempting a DHCP release/renew of the clients, I get a 169.x.x.x IP address (self-assigned IP)
  • B. Verify that the DHCP and DNS servers are enabled on the HDA.

    They are
  • C. Make sure there are no other DHCP servers enabled in your network.

There weren't, until I needed to get on the internet to get on the forum. :) I had to reenable the DHCP & DNS servers on my router
  • D. Validate there are no firewalls enabled in your network that might be blocking access.

I believe there is a basic firewall on my router, however, that shouldn't interfere with LAN traffic.

We can then try to determine what the issue might be.

BTW, is this a new install? If so, then we need to close this thread and open a new one to prevent confusion.

By new install, yes it, was RE-installed several times. However, the syptoms are the same.
