No Amahi installer after Fedora 14 full DVD install

I installed fedora 16 with a usb using unetbootin. Had to because cd's kept on failing and hanging. I installed fedora with the basic graphics option and followed the youtube guide for installing amahi on fedora 14 for the rest of the way. I also changed the repo to f16.amahi.org. The full dvd install took a long time then i saw that there was no installer for amahi on my desktop. Well after a couple of hours of searching my computer and the internet i found a guide that said to check the desktop folder from the places directory. I felt so stupid because sure enough there it was. Double clicked install and I was good to go. Hope this helps.

Just to clarify, the problem identified here was regarding Fedora 14, not 16. We are still developing Fedora 16 (ALPHA) so there are features not working and no apps. If you choose to install it, understand that things may break.

The only officially supported method for installing Amahi is the Fedora 14 Full DVD. While some have had success with USB install, we cannot provide assistance when things go astray. Using Live CD, network install, and CDs is not supported and often fails most of the time.

For those who want to try Fedora 16, read the wiki page to get it installed. One thing specifically mentioned is that there are no desktop icons. There is direction on how to get to access the Amahi installer. You can also follow the progress of development there as well.

First time user here and i also followed the instructions .... Ending up with only a shell. Instructions should really be updated for linux beginners like me

Need to be a little more specific. Tell us how you installed, at what point did you get the shell prompt, etc. It's hard to help with such a generic problem description.

Instructions probably do need some updating, but have worked well for most folks. If you have any suggestions as what needs updated specifically, we can look at that area.
