sorry to jump in here.

we have not had a flame in a long time. we'd like to keep it healthy :)

here is the explanation: our bad. this area was abused in the past (people creating dozens of bogus HDAs, clogging our free dyndns system). we decided that unless one user has one HDA running (actively updating dyndns), creating new HDAs is not possible.

you can, alternatively delete a non-running hda, and that will take you to the wizard to create a new profile for an HDA.

oh, and perhaps we can find a better way to handle this situation (users not seeing the "new hda" link), by perhaps putting the link but explaining the flow if people click on it?

other ways taht would help us prevent the abuse?
My HDA: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz on MSI board, 8GB RAM, 1TBx2+3TBx1

I for one don't mind the restriction since what your providing is essentially a service when it comes to multiple HDA's. It does appear that on the control panel it won't let you add an additional HDA, but that's if you already have one setup and its not running. Which I'm fine with since most people will only need one. The one I had on my Control Panel was not running, it was a test box from last year. All I needed to do was delete it and I could start again.

Then sure enough, once my new one was built yesterday and showed up as running in my Control Panel, the "Start a new HDA" popped up on the left side of the control for my second available HDA.

As more and more people take advantage of such a great server, I'm sure there will be abuses and I don't mind Amahi doing what they need to do to keep things from getting out of control. Keep up the great work, I love your product! Now I just wish it made a latte as well. ;) Thanks Amahi Team
