LVM or standard partions with HW Raid?

Postby treborprime » Tue Apr 27, 2010 7:49 pm

I noticed that Fedora automatically creates LVM by default. I tried to add my external esata Raid 5 device ( hardware raid) to this on install but it kept crashing on me...I will figure this out later. Perhaps I will need to add it after the install.

Anyway

Does LVM work with such a device? I believe LVM probably works better for future expansions?

What would be the recommended setup for this configuration?

1 X 320GB internal drive
1 X 2.5GB External Esata hardware ( HW raid) device Sans Digital TRUT5

Thanks!!!

I'd recommend not use LVM, but that is a personal recommendation. Depends on your needs, and this is a complex issue.
