Short URLS not working - intermittently

Alright, here is a funny problem.

Some apps have a hard time with the internal Amahi names. For example, http://horde.myinternaldomain.com works every time. http://wikkawiki.myinternaldomain.com does not.

Sometimes http://hda does not work.

I have the DHCP turned off on my router. I have the DNS look-up set to the IP address of my Amahi box. When I say it does not work, I mean it takes me to OpenDNS.

This is an intermittent problem. Is not a problem when I use the VPN.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Is the client some "corporate" system?

Does it have pure DHCP from the HDA or is there more to the story?

Did you go through the network troubleshooter?

Not sure what that means, but all are consumer grade. Personal computers. One is used to telecomute, but there is not any remote administration of that system.

Not a clue what this means. All the settings are out of the box Amahi.

Did you go through the network troubleshooter?

Yes. I went through all the steps and passed with flying colors.

The intermittent part is what makes it hard.

Does the failure last long enough to run the network troubleshooter at that time?
