add and remove a User into HDA WebGUI,still appear on Fedora

Postby zavatar69 » Tue Apr 20, 2010 5:26 am

Hi,
This is my second post, and I'm sorry,
but another feedback : bug ?
...but HDA looks like a very good Home Server, and I'm happy to use it,
so I'm trying it to learn it.

Well,
if you add a User onto HDA console (I name it WebGUI in subject),
and,
I'm testing HDA so I remove this new created User,
AND,
the user still appear onto " system-config-users " into FEDORA12
so you add to remove it twice also under Fedora.

My Fedoro12 is up to date.

Best regards,
Zavatar69.

Hi again,
maybe an answer...

I think that the Amahi HDA Admin User, zavatar69 for my HDA,
which one is creating the new users, and deleting it, onto http://HDA Console,
had no Root rights to remove Users and folders of this user under "system-config-users".

Because when you launch "system-config-users", you have to enter Root password !

I hope I'm clear, I'm french, my english maybe not so enought good ... :P

regards,

It's not very clear what's going on.

Can you describe how to reproduce the bug in concrete steps?

0.- Assumptions: you have two users foo and bar
1.- Delete user "foo" ...
2.- The user still shows in Fedora
3.- ...

The screenshots help A LOT.

However, please NOTE that the fedora tools are NOT supposed to be used when using Amahi! Like, no user management, no networking configuration, etc.

They will interfere with each other and break what Amahi is trying to do!

(also, we have an international section of the forum where you can also post in french).

Hi,
Yes, your steps 0.1.2.3...were corrects.

Since,
I re-install all my HDA Server,
WITH
before removing DCHP into my modem/router DSL
and changing IP into my router ( 192.168.1.254 >> 192.168.1.1)
before re-install, I tried "hda-change-gw 192.168.1.254"
but into HDA Control Panel, still had ...1.1 in router field !? > so I decide re-install all.

and now,
all is good, I can't reproduce this "bug ?" ...
when I remove a User (foo), it's removed under Fedora too.

And I really don't want to use Fedora tools at all ! Using Amahi much more comfortable.
...but I want to discover Linux & amahi filesystem, and so on....

 I make a long time to decide to mount my HDA,
before that I own my data under Ubuntu Server ed. (manually)
and I am happy not to buy a WHS !

best regards,
Zavatar69.
