SOLVED: Fedora 21 minimal install fails on boot - Create Volatile Files and Directories

Hello, noob here, I'm following the minimal fedora installation instructions from amahi wiki. Install to a HDD completed fine. Now trying to reboot gives me these messages:

[FAILED] Failed to start Create Volatile Files and Directories. See "systemctl status systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service" for details. ...

Some other services afterwards fail as well, and I never get any login prompt.

Google led me to this bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1228489 but from my neophyte understanding it only talks (and the fix applies to) Fedora 22. Has anyone here seen this? There are some possible fix/workaround suggestions in that bug report, but a bit too low level for me to understand and follow. Would be great if someone here could assist.

I should add some more details about my specific install:

• downloaded fedora iso from the first link listed in the wiki, which is from fedora site, not the amahi provided copy.
• during install my system defaulted to using UEFI boot, so I left it as that.

Otherwise I think I followed the instructions exactly (including removal of /home partition).

I would recommend you follow guidance from the Amahi 7 Express CD Troubleshooting guidance where it states disable UEFI.

Yes, that was it. I've reinstalled for the legacy boot method and fedora works fine now. Thank you.
