hda ctl and hda platform errors (newbie)

Postby dphowa8p » Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:14 am

I am trying to install Amahi 7 from the full cd. I loaded Fedora (Server 21) and started the amahi process, but get an error when I try to install the hda ctl and hda platform. It says no package available for either.

Fedora 21 is not supported currently. Please refer to Amahi 7 Full DVD install guidance in the wiki. It states the version if Fedora 19.

So I need to install fedora 19? When I do will it overwrite the fedora 21? Thanks for all the help on the forums, Bigfoot! You're awesome.

It should wipe the disk. Is there a reason why you are not using the Express DVD?

http://docs.amahi.org

It is the preferred method for install and only installs the necessary files for Amahi, unlink the Fedora 19 DVD which installs a lot more.

I'm using older hardware on 32 bit. I tried the express cd and it froze as soon as I started the install. Just left a blank screen. I then started the manual install using fedora. Guess I chose the wrong fedora. Will try with fedora 19 this afternoon and hope it works.

That makes sense. Express DVD is only for 64-bit. Continue to follow the guidance in the wiki.

I got Fedora 19 from a torrent site, but it won't load. I cannot find any active downloads from Fedora, as this is an older version and is not supported by them anymore. I'm now stuck. Any ideas?

Try this link:
http://ftp.riken.jp/Linux/fedora/releas ... 86-DVD.iso

UPDATE: We will be adding the 32- and 64-bit Fedora 19 Full DVD ISO files to a local Amahi server soon. The links in the wiki will be updated accordingly at that time.

The link worked to allow me to download Fedora 19, however when I burn it to a disc using FreeISO burner it freezes at 100% but will not finish. This shuts down my computer running Windows 7, giving me the blue screen. The server will not boot from said disc, it freezes shortly after install fedora 19 is selected.

Most likely you have a bad disc or the image is corrupt.
