Hello Forum!
I'm new to Amahi, but relatively familiar with Linux. I have had a pretty hard time installing Amahi, but have worked through most of my issues (mostly caused by Unetbootin not burning the iso properly). I finally got the Amahi Express install to complete, but when I reboot, I just have a blank screen with a blinking cursor. I'm not able to access a terminal at all, and the screen does not accept any input.
I previously had this hardware running as a Hackintosh, and made some changes to the BIOS for that. I reloaded the board defaults before installing Amahi though. I'm still wondering if this is caused by some wrong setting in BIOS, but I'm not sure. If anyone has any insight into why I'm seeing this behavior, please help.
Mobo: ASRock H77M-ITX
HDD: Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX
Please let me know if there's any additional information I can provide. I'm not sure what all is needed for help troubleshooting.
Thanks!
Thomas

Re: Blank screen with blinking cursor after install
Chances are the install failed. We don't support use of Unetbootin with the Express CD. Any reason why you didn't burn the ISO to CD?
If you must use USB recommend you follow the wiki guidance for USB install.

Re: Blank screen with blinking cursor after install
Thanks for the reply! I ended up using dd instead of Unetbootin because of the errors. I don't have any blank DVDs or a burner. The install says it finished successfully, and all the post-install scripts ran. I followed the wiki. Any other suggestions? Hopefully I'm not out of luck, since it's not officially supported via USB.Chances are the install failed. We don't support use of Unetbootin with the Express CD. Did you wait for two reboots before attempting to do anything? If not might wanna give it more time.
What ISO file did you use?

Yep, I did the second reboot, and waited more than 30 minutes for it to respond. Never happened. I used the ISO here.Did you wait for two reboots before attempting to do anything? If not might wanna give it more time.

I just gave up on the ExpressCD and installed Fedora 19 Server, then installed Amahi manually. I eventually got everything installed and configured, but now I can't access http://hda. Gonna poke around a bit more, and post another question if (read: when) I need more help lol.
Thanks!

Re: Blank screen with blinking cursor after install
Glad to hear you have made progress.
That was my intent when I directed you to the wiki was to use the guidance for USB install not the Express CD version. That method uses the Fedora Live CD and works well. Unfortunately the Express CD was never intended for USB install, so many have failed.
Make sure you check out the Troubleshooting page if you continue to have problems. Also recommend you check out http://docs.amahi.org as there is some guidance there as to what you need to do after installing Amahi. Mainly the disabling of the DHCP and DNS server on your router.
I will mark this thread as CLOSED and you can start a new one if needed.
