No drives found error

Postby lumpy53 » Wed Dec 31, 2014 6:47 pm

I'm installing on a old Dell GX620, meets the min requirements. I keep getting a error on install that says it can't find any drives. I was installing from Win XP pro, I though that might be the problem so I installed Ubuntu and still get the error. It has a 1tb drive install. PC boots up fine with Win XP and Ubuntu.

Any ideas?

What Amahi install media are you using (Express CD or Full DVD)?

I am confused where you say you are installing from Win XP Pro. Can you provide more context here?

I'm using express install from a bootable USB drive. The PC originally had Win XP pro installed on it.

The only officially supported Amahi install is the Express CD. Not from USB. That is likely why it will not work. Some have success with it and others do not on USB.

If you cannot use a CD/DVD, recommend you try the Fedora 19 Live CD USB install. Although not officially supported, it has been tested numerous times with success.

Yep that did it. I got a disc burned and got it installed. No I just have to figure out how to get my data loaded on the server now. Plugged in external drive but can't see it or figure out how to transfer data. Guess I need to do some reading.
