I installed Amahi 7 with the express DVD today and installed the server per the directions on this page:
http://docs.amahi.org/
Everything seemed to go fine but I noticed on my amahi.org control panel, that the status never changed from "waiting install" I then noticed that when the amahi server was online, I started having trouble getting to external web addresses - they could not be resolved.
I did some digging and ran ip addr from the amahi server command line and it showed the same dhcp assigned address from the router that it had during installation. I restarted the server after making sure that dhcp was turned off on my router and then it had no address assigned.
I had to revert my network settings and then shut down the hda in order to get out to the internet and post this message. I searched what I could but didn't find much in the way of similar complaints for this issue.

Re: HDA not using static IP after installation
I figured out what the issue was - I had two NICs in the pc and the default NIC was not eth0. I removed one of them and reinstalled and the issues were resolved.
I saw on this page that "Please note that only the first NIC/ethernet card (eth0) is supported out of the box. If you have two, please make sure you use eth0 for the LAN where your Amahi HDA resides. There is an unsupported way to support amahi on the eth1 device. "

Just FYI in case someone else has this issue.
