I saw Amahi a few years ago when it was Fedora based but never went for it. Now I have a HP proliant Microserver with 3TB of storage to use, I thought i would revisit Amahi.
I have downloaded the following:
Fedora 14
Ubuntu 12.04 32 Bit
Ubuntu 12.04 64 Bit
Ubuntu Server 1204 64 Bit
Now, I want to install Amahi to run as a file server, be able to VNC on to it, download torrents, use Sickbeard etc, use VPN, run as a media server and so on.
Which version will work best/be easiest to do? The installer says ubuntu, but is 64 bit ready? I have 8GB of Ram on my server.
Many thanks
Which distribution/version is best to install please?
Re: Which distribution/version is best to install please?
Ubuntu 12.04 is our latest officially supported OS for Amahi. We will begin work on Fedora 17 soon as well. Both 32- and 64-bit are supported as well.
Fedora 14 will receive no further updates or app releases. We are supporting it only for maintenance.

Many thanks. Will all the features i mentioned work with 64 bit ubuntu?

Yes, there is no difference in Amahi versions for 32- and 64-bit. They all have the same capability.
