I read the newbie tutorial, which made sense for a 40+ gb HD, but given my 30gb what would you recommend for lv_swap, lv_home, lv_swap etc.
I've got 1gb of ram.
thanks.
Correct LVM sizes for a 30gb SSD?
Re: Correct LVM sizes for a 30gb SSD?
my setup (works without issues)
/boot 1G
/ 5G
/home 5G (enough for my usage)
/usr 5G
/var 5G
/tmp 5G (could be smaller, 1G is the smallest size I'd recommend)
swap 8G (4GB memory so yours could be 2GB)
/var/hda is a separately mounted logical volume (in my case 1.1TB mirrored)

Re: Correct LVM sizes for a 30gb SSD?
turns out it doesn't matter
I installed everything after several failed attempts... rebooted... flashing cursor.
This old POS couldn't detect the SATA SSD without drivers...located on the SSD. (The drivers are necessary to operate the PCI SATA controller card.
oh well. I'm installing it to the IDE drive...wish me luck.
