fedora 14 freezes on install

hey guys

trying to install F14 as the amahi base, but the installer stalls, after selecting which type of install screen, while examining storage devices - anyone else have this problem? have installed F14 on this machine previously (last week) with same disk setup and same DVD!! have verified the disk and is all good, maybe i reburn the DVD?

Could be many things going on here. If you checked the DVD during install and there were no errors, then its good.

Is there anything you are doing differently this time? If you could provide more specifics as to how far you get during install or any other details, we can assist you better.

thanks for the reply.

the only difference was had ubuntu 10:10 on the main drive (see below), this caused a message to appear (cant recall the detail), so i grabbed gparted live and wiped the drive. message didnt appear the next time round.

the install freezes after the install type selection page, i select use all space and tick review/modify partioning layout. it then just sits there examining storage devices, left it for 30mins last time just to be sure.

my server box consists of one 500gb WD OS drive (overkill but couldn't get smaller at the time!) and two 1tb WD green drives in raid 1. the raid array was setup the first time i installed amahi using F12 bout a year ago, want to retain it as contains data. can boot into pc with a live disk (F14 non dvd) and mount both the raid and the OS drive.

tried the old F12 dvd, no problem, finds all storage devices and can begin install. load up the F14 live cd, try to install off live desktop, same problem as dvd but get an error message when freezes at same point - installer not responding. load up crunchbang, and install, no problem. conclusion got to be a F14 issue!?! gather no one else is having a similar this issue? might head over to the F14 to see what they say.
