Hey guys, so I'm trying to do the upgrade from fedora 12 to 14. After downloading all the needed packages and rebooting, I'm greeted with the following screens: http://yfrog.com/h6jxyqj and http://yfrog.com/gz4icinj. It doesn't tell me what drivers it wants or exactly what the error is. Since this is a low level kernel it boots to, I'm assuming that it can't find the proper chipset SATA drivers. Here is the board I'm using: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131653. It's an nVidia ION based board, but selecting the low level nVidia nForce SATA drivers just puts it back in loop like everything else I select. Pressing f2 to go to driver disc also does nothing, so I'm also assuming that it wants an actual floppy disk which obviously isn't connected since it isn't supported on this board.
I'd really like to do this upgrade properly and not have to do a full reinstall of fedora and amahi. Has anyone gotten this upgrade to work properly using an ION board? I can't even skip this screen, going back just resets the same screen and trying to hit f12 to go next also just resets the loop. Just to clarify, this is the low level kernel after you do the preupgrade command and reboot as outlined here: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/F12_to_F14_update.
Thanks for the help!

This is a one in a million, but i'd do this: boot the F14 dvd (or live cd or whatever) that gets your hardware going and identify what driver is it that is driving it.
The hard part, I'd say, is getting a driver for that kernel (or maybe the kernel is built to be more modular and might take the f14 one?).
This is a tough one.

The only problem with that is I have no idea what driver it wants, and if it can't autodetect it by default, then it probably wants a driver disk which I don't have.

I got something similar when I initially tried installing Fedora 12 off of a USB stick. For what ever reason it wanted a driver, but I had no idea which one or what it was for. I ended up giving up on trying to install Fedora 12 off the USB and just install it from a DVD drive. I almost completely gave upon Amahi then and there since it seemed hard than it should be to install the program.
Not sure if you can, but perhaps you can load up a Fedora 14 disk and attempt to repair an installation? Just a guess though.

same situation here: Point Of View Atom 330 mainboard with ION chipset.
PreUpgrade leads to the same screens as in the first post.
any help is highly appreciated.
Will try to get over this in the next few days
