Those look ok to me as well.

Only other explanation would be the router handing out DNS.

Have you checked the router and clients to ensure there's nothing there causing the issue?

yes I did. Clients dont configure anything themselves.
router has DHCP v4 and v6 turned OFF and DNS turned OFF

I guess I should turn everything OFF....then reboot the HDA, then start the router and then the clients. ?

Yea that’s a good idea.

A fresh start might help.

what I have found on my laptop (windows 10) is that its getting a v6 DNS server address and Amahi has no v6 address? only v4 right?

FIXED IT!!!!!!!!

I checked the settings on my router again and the DHCP server for DHCPv4 was OFF, but I had set the DHCPv6 server setting to "stateless". I thought that was OFF. When I read some more about it, it made more sense to turn it to "stateful".

I renewed all my clients and they now only get DHCPv4 DNS servers pointing to the HDA. And wireless networkspeeds jumped through the roof after that.

Hope this is a permanent fix. Does it make sense to you Bigfoot65?

I kind of thought that might be the case.

Amahi 11 can do IPV6, but I typically keep it off.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Will mark as resolved.

damnit....we're one hour later and seems everything is back to how it was...my laptop is again getting v6 DNS server from I guess the router... na local DNS is again not working...damnit

I read in another forum from my provider that my provider has to turn off IPv6 to really disable it. So I sent out that request. Hope that finally fixes it.

just wanted to share this update. I found out that my router/modem from my provider was still putting out IPv6 adresses for the DNS server. I have called them and asked to just turn off IPv6 support for my account and they did.

local DNS is working fine now and wireless speeds have gone up a lot for some reason too..
