If the dashboard has a GREEN light, & *.yourhda.com site doesn't show anything....?

Postby DethB4DCaf » Fri May 31, 2019 2:12 pm

Hello --

Background: Extensive *nix experience, HDA is a clean Fedora 27/Amahi 11 installation with updates applied.

What does it mean when the Control Panel has a green light for my up-n-running HDA but nothing is served but a "Cannot connect" message when I try to load my Dynamic DNS address "DethB4DCaf-3.yourhda.com" in my browser? [ What should I be seeing? (-; (-; ]

I just assumed that there was going to be a web page on port 80, but it's been a loooong week (-:, & I suspect that I am missing something obvious here -- any suggestions as to where I should be looking for error messages?

Thank you for the assistance! .......Deth......

It means your machine has been detected as online. Doesn’t have anything to do with dynamic DNS.

Okay, please allow me to rephrase....

What does it mean when nothing is served but a "Cannot connect" message when I try to load my Dynamic DNS address "DethB4DCaf-3.yourhda.com" in my browser? [ That is, what should I be seeing? (-; (-; ]

I just assumed that there was going to be a web page on port 80, but it's been a loooong week (-:, & I suspect that I am missing something REALLY obvious here... (-;

Thank you once again for the assistance! .......Deth......

The dynamic DNS will not show anything without manual configuration of HDA apps.

It's mainly used by most for VPN.

To use it for apps, see hosting a web site guidance in the wiki.

The additional configuration is required for security. Exposing the HDA by default without users knowledge is not acceptable.
