I'm trying to figure out how to use Pi-Hole for my DNS blackhole, but use Amahi for DHCP. It's been suggested on their forums to set Amahi upstream for DNS.

https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/how-to- ... eam/2483/8

The idea is, Pi-Hole does the dns lookup functions and compares it to it's whitelists and blacklists, and if it's not in it's list, it forwards it on to Amahi. When I've tried this, no matter what I seem to do, Amahi remains my DNS server.

I'm using a Ubiquiti gateway. DHCP is being done on Amahi. I tried setting DNS on the gateway to use Pi-Hole, and on Pi-Hole, set its DNS to Amahi.

Any ideas, suggestions? Would there perhaps be a way to install Pi-hole on the Amahi server instead of a seperate Raspberry Pi, let it run it's DNS filtering, and then let Amahi perform the rest of the DNS functionality?

See the reply for forum post.

It may be possible to add this functionality to the HDA, but we cannot assist.
