Hi,
I've recently noticed that Dynamic DNS no longer seems to work on my Amahi Box.
When I go to my Control Panel on the Amahi website (https://www.amahi.org/users ), I see 2 Amahi installs listed, both showing the wrong public IP address, and both showing that they've not been updated since about 2011?
I've also tried the "fpaste --sysinfo" command to try and help give some machine information to help me out here, but that command fails too with:
Invalid URL 'https://paste.fedoraproject.org/' returned. This should not happen. Use --debug to see server output
How does Dynamic DNS work in Amahi? Is there a certain service that deals with this? Is there any way that I can look at a log file, or run debug? Or what?
For the record I have a VERY old version of Amahi installed - like on Fedora 14!

Re: How to debug Dynamic DNS issues
We have not supported Fedora 14 for several years. This is why your server is not working. For the record I have a VERY old version of Amahi installed - like on Fedora 14!
You will need to install the latest supported version, Amahi 10 on Fedora 25.
Please see http://docs.amahi.org for details.

Re: How to debug Dynamic DNS issues
Really? Is that it? No help on how to debug why it doesn't work? Surely it's just a running service on the server that I can look into?
If I'm forced to upgrade (to a version that is headless), then I'll simply transfer everything over to our Synology box and scrap the Amahi one for good.

Re: How to debug Dynamic DNS issues
Sorry, but it doesn't work because that version was dropped from the Amahi completely. There is no infrastructure to support it or the service. That's the reason there was no update in the control panel since 2011.Really? Is that it? No help on how to debug why it doesn't work? Surely it's just a running service on the server that I can look into?
We don't have the space or resources to support something that old. We typically only maintain infrastructure for 2-3 Amahi versions.
Sorry, but all Amahi versions are now headless as a server should be. The Web UI allows maintenance of most tasks as well as the Fedora built-in web UI.If I'm forced to upgrade (to a version that is headless), then I'll simply transfer everything over to our Synology box and scrap the Amahi one for good.
I presume I can mark this as closed since you don't intend to use Amahi.

Re: CLOSED: How to debug Dynamic DNS issues
Headless is not the way to go unless you have full access to everything you need to fix issues, eg like hardware ones. Doing things like this over a terminal connection is not a solution. That's why I didn't upgrade, and hence why I eventually invested in a Synology box, which I will now be swapping over to.

Sorry I jumped the gun a bit.I see you've already closed this thread anyway...
We are sad to see you go, but understand the need for desktop access. We are continuously are trying to make Amahi better for users. Hopefully one day we will find the right combination of server and UI.
Take care and good luck with your Synology box.
