CLOSED: Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred

Postby uwmad » Tue Dec 05, 2017 8:16 pm

Beginning a couple of weeks ago whenever I try to transfer a large (3-8GB) file to my shares it starts out fine but after about a minute the transfer rate drops to 1mb or less. After about 20 minutes of slow transfer speed I then get an error message saying:

"Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred"

After that error message I get another dialog box that says:

"An error occurred while reconnecting to \\hda\movies Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use. The connection has not been restored"

After that second message I can not access any of my shares in file explorer for varying degrees of time, often I have to restart.

With the system having issues I turned off DHCP in Amahi and that made the wireless more stable but hasn't help file transfers at all.

I don't have issues with any other part of my network so I don't think it is my router, i'm running a Linksys wrt1900acs with DD-WRT.

Everything was running great until this issue.

So it looks like it was a conflict with Kaspersky. I disabled all my Kaspersky protection and the problem stopped. Not sure if it was the virus protection or the "secure connection" program. I'll try to do some testing later to isolate the issue in case anyone else has the same problem.

Interesting. I use Kapersky on my clients and did not notice any issues.

I will mark this as closed.
