Class A address

Postby ocanet » Sun Mar 26, 2017 1:00 pm

Hi everyone,
is it possible to set the network configuration (during the installation process) to manage a "Class A" network (i.e 10.*.*.*)? I have a lot of IoT home stuff as sensors, switches, relays and so on...

yes. however, if you plan to use one of the VPN apps, I think OpenVPN, it uses 10.8, so i would avoid that range and stick to something else.

HOWEVER, you MAY need to increase the netmask, as I think amahi defaults to 255.255.255.* if you have more than 153 DHCP devices and 98 static IP devices. we Chose *.100 as the first DHCP address and the server sets up 100~253 for the dynamic range.

This is something we'd like to handle better, though, so it would be great if you can document where you change it, so we can support it as an advanced setting.
