I'm running an Amahi 6 build and haven't messed with it since it is only for backups of other machines. It only runs on Saturdays. Last month, I just started seeing this message from the Cron daemon: mkdir: cannot create directory `/var/run/sendmail': Permission denied
The only hits google gave back was a hit from 2003 where it was a debian bug and another where folks saw the error mailed to root from cron every 20 min.
This amahi turns on via WOL, receives a rsync backup, then cron shuts it down in the PM every Sat. That's all it does.
I'll try to upgrade when I have some time, but it is a hp mediasmart and they can be finicky.
Any ideas? I have not tried to upgrade to the most recent sendmail pkg yet.

Re: cron / sendmail minor issue
You could uninstall sendmail:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get erase sendmail

Re: cron / sendmail minor issue
I was either going to REM out the command in cron or uninstall it. I was just checking if this was something known, but not common.

Re: cron / sendmail minor issue
There are very few Amahi 6 users left, so no one has reported anything.I was just checking if this was something known, but not common.
Will mark this as closed.
