Testing Network Speed (provider)

Postby akreaxun » Sat Oct 08, 2016 5:16 am

Hi folks

Got a question you may be able to answer:

System: Amahi 9, directly on HDD, i.e. headless system

Question: How can I do a broadband speedtest to see if my provider is delivering the bandwith he promises?

Already checked:
  • speedtest-cli (https://askubuntu.com/questions/104755/ ... a-terminal) does not seem to work. When I enter ./speedtest-cli in the terminal I don't get any output (goes back to command prompt).
  • speedtest.net mini does not work either after installation...
  • --> speedtest need to be run on amahi, as this computer is the only one directly connected via Gbit LAN to the router
