Can't open Calendar

Postby kiwimike » Sat Dec 27, 2008 7:09 pm

I have an issue with calendaring, when I click on a calendar from the list, I get a page load error - address not found - webcal can't be found. The files are there in the folder.

can anyone help?

cheers
Mike

it's possible the alias was not set up right. try this

Code: Select all

hda-alias add webcal
i assume you are talking about webcal. otherwise that may not do much to fix your issue.

Thanks for the suggestion, it has made a difference but not fixed the issue. Rather than the error page I now end up on the setup page. The calendars are there as I can open in sunbird, but not in the browser.

you may need to restart the http server (as root):

Code: Select all

service httpd restart
and/or your browser, then try this url or this one.

Hmmm this is a little pest! I have tried restarting the server as you suggested, cleared the cache etc from the browser and still get the setup page. One interesting thing though, when I tried the second link, there was a flash of an image that obviously couldn't be displayed correctly then the setup page was displayed. The address bar still shows http://hda/hda_app_webcal, and if I ctrl+f5 I get as described above, but if I f5 I only get the setup screen.

hmm.

try http://webcal.home.com

(assuming home.com is your configured domain, change as appropriate).

Unfortunately no change. One thing I was wondering is, who should the owner of the calendar file be, and what permissions for other users?

Hold the phone!! I have reinstalled Webcal and it works!! Yay and thanks for your help.

glad to hear!

that was my next suggestion. many people don't know how to reinstall an rpm, so i don't usually recommend that upfront.
