drwxrwxrwx 2 Hugues root 4096 Sep 16 20:21 movies
drwxrwxr-x 2 Hugues root 4096 Sep 16 20:33 music
These two directories still do not have the correct ownership permissions. It should be users, not root.

Until you can resolve that issue, you will not have access to the shares.

Ok, now try restarting Samba from the Dashboard servers tab.

See if you can access shares then.

If not, then I am not sure what else to suggest.

This is driving me nuts!!

I add a new share from the dashboard, and it shows up right away here :

folders.jpg (8.59 KiB) Viewed 3847 times
then:
drwxrwxrwx 2 Hugues users 4096 Sep 16 20:21 movies
drwxrwxrwx 2 Hugues users 4096 Sep 16 20:33 music
drwxrwxrwx 2 Hugues users 4096 Sep 16 22:13 test_raid

still no access from Win 10 or OS X, reboot server and clients. :?: :?: :?:

Check out the Shares Troubleshooting page.

Also, there may be an issue with your Windows Credentials for the network drive be stored. You can check out this page for assistance.

Already visited both links before posting here. The only thing I might add is that I installed Fedora and Amahi before I started the array. the HDs were physically disconnected. Once the server was up and running, I plugged them back in. Not sure if it's of any interest, otherwise, fml.

As long as they were added to /etc/fstab correctly, they should work fine.

You should really use the disk-wizard App or follow the adding a second hard drive to your HDA guidance when mounting additional drives.

There may be something there you missed.

I am out of ideas, so not sure I can provide much more assistance.

Just for what it's worth, best to check for guidance in the Amahi wiki when customizing your server beyond the basic install guidance. Otherwise you might find yourself in a bad place.

This is a non-standard setup and our support is limited. Sorry to say, but RAID just made setting up an HDA more complicated than necessary. That is one of the reasons why RAID is not the best choice for home servers. You would have been up and running hours ago with Greyhole and probably happier with your server. Better off as well in my opinion.

The thing is I had the exact same setup with Amahi 8. And liked the fact that if I changed OS version, my raid 10 would still be there. perhaps I should have red a bit more on Greyhole.

I have disk Wizard installed, and /dev/md0 D array is showing on there like a normal partition, same as sda1, sda2..

With all that screwing around, I didn't lose any files thankfully. I might dabber with the greyhole thing tho

There is very little difference between Amahi 8 and 9, so should be working. Odd that it's not.

Did you do the upgrade or new install?

I hope you get it sorted out. Sorry I did not help you resolve it, but I am sure you will figure it out eventually.

I did a clean install, and a raid rebuild at the same time.

I will try a clean install but with the raid drives present and not selected. If that doesn't pan out, it will be Greyhole.

Thanks for your time and PATIENCE, greatly appreciated. As frustrated as I might be, awesome customer service always does it. Thanks again!
