CLOSED: 2 NICS & IPMI questions.

Postby reezin68 » Thu Aug 06, 2015 4:43 am

Within the next few weeks here I'm looking to upgrade my mobo and ram for something a bit more powerful/efficient. I'm currently looking/researching this board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157614 (with a 8-port 1x expansion card) and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157417(confirmed 8GB's usable). I was wondering if there would be any foreseeable problems running the nics in bonded/teamed mode within Amahi ? Also IPMI,I'm thinking this should just work right ??

Any thoughts in general or anyone using one of the two mobo's input would be greatly appreciated.

Quite honestly I am no network expert and not sure if this will be an issue. We only support a single network interface, so this would be experimental on your part.

If you find it works and would like to contribute your success to the community, please feel free to add some guidance to the Amahi wiki.

I know that Amahi is configured to only support 1 nic.I'm thinking I can get it to work hopefully with some effort... I certainly will document it at any-rate,here on the forum or if successful in the Amahi wiki. Thanks for your input.

Well after much research/thought and time constants,I've decided to keep it simple. And not go for the 2 Nic & IPMI build. After all I love the fact that Amahi just works. :D And now that Amahi 8 is out,the feature set looks even better.

If anyone is interested I went with a Asrock N3700-itx pentium 4-core 10w motherboard,8GB's at 1600MHz 1.35v for ram. I will be reusing the hdd's(WD 3TB greens)x4,case and hot-swap bays.Along with a 4-port sata expansion card. These components fit the bill for my usage as of now.As you can tell power efficiency is a priority for me.

Current build idles at 47watts or a little less, with load usage around 53 to 57watts via killa-watt(See signature). I'm hoping the new build will use less watts with more umph. We'll see how it goes this weekend coming up. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS.
