Internal Routing Without OpenDNS

Postby AndyBel » Sun May 10, 2015 3:42 am

Hi

I'm having problems routing internally (i.e. http://hda brings up an error rather than the dashboard). Reading a few topics on here suggests using OpenDNS as the DNS server. However, I don't want to do this as it brings up incorrect pages for me (OpenDNS is US-specific and I'm in the UK - this means searching for Amazon or eBay I get the wrong page).

Is there a way of getting the internal DNS to operate correctly, while having the ISP's own DNS servers (which work fine otherwise) in the Custom DNS option?

Many thanks in advance

Andy

I think I've just figured it out - because I'm hosting multiple webapps I've adjusted the ports so I can access them externally. I can do app.domain.com:port internally as well. It's just when clicking the app in the dashboard (and also the Amahi Android app as well) that things fail.

Yes changing the custom DNS provider in the dashboard to match your ISP DNS server should do the trick.
