PXE Booting

Postby brecklandcomputers » Mon Dec 15, 2014 6:37 am

Hi,

How can I setup my Amahi server for PXE iso booting. So lets say I have a windows 7 & 8.1 iso, a memtest86 iso and a fedora iso on the server, I want to be able to boot them on a machine connected to the network, I have looked at a few tutorials dotted about the net but nothing seems to work. Please can anyone help?

Thanks

There is some guidance in the Amahi wiki on the Netboot page. The wiki is a good source of info for tutorials and how to's.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, will this work with Amahi 7? I checked the wiki for more detailed documentation and found this page https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_ ... _for_noobs which says 'NOTE: This is for Fedora 14 ONLY and needs updated to reflect Amahi 7 specifics.' I didnt want to just install it incase it causes probs with my system.

Thanks for the help

Guidance should be similar for Amahi 7. No guarantees it won't cause issues. This is an area you have to be careful and should only be attempted by advanced users.
