Hi,

I cannot make FreenX work on my HDA. The guide in the wiki does not seem to work for me.

I copied the key ... and still got this below ... ideas?

do you have the correct ports forwarded in your router?

two things:

- this is inside my network, so no port forwarding should be necessary
- my understanding is that freenx is actually done through ssh, so, even if done externally, no other ports than the port needed for ssh should be required (even if not the standard port).

Ok, I just installed freenx, I had an earlier attempt that failed. The only problem I have looking at the wiki is that I can not log in using a user name the only one that works it root, but the directions worked for me

i finally made it work!

i fiddled a bit with the settings, but i think the one that did it was that i unclicked the checkbox that was disabling all encryption.

i am not sure if i had clicked it before. i think i did (probably to speed things up without encryption).

this just proves (in my own flesh) the usual experience that advanced users are more prone to get in trouble by cutting through instructions and generally running too fast!
