DHCP on Router and DHCP in Amahi

Postby apples723 » Thu May 15, 2014 7:44 am

I think my router and amahi are both assigning dhcp leases is this a problem? I don't run the router my dad does. He say he doesn't want to turn off dhcp as we have alot of people in and out of our house alot vistors to coworkers. So it to much of a hassle for them. So is that a problem? I turened of dhcp on amahi this morning as it was on last night and noticed it. Any problem with this?

Amahi documentation says you should disable the routers dhcp. In this senario what you can do is turn off the dhcp on amahi. However you may face problems accessing apps installed on amahi. If you can convinice you dad to use amahi's dhcp as the primary dhcp then you will not face any problems. Hope i have answered your question.

This might shed a little more light about what capabilities you lose when not using Amahi as the sole DHCP server.
