I have the following setup:
U-verse gateway:192.168.1.xxx
Belkin N750 DB:192.168.2.xxx
Amahi 7:
Belkin WAP is assigned a static IP within the Uverse IPs
Belkin DHCP and DNS are disabled. Amahi handles all under the 192.168.2.xxx
All network and VPN functions work on Amahi. I can use it away from home.
My question is when I am connected to the UVerse gateway (some 192.168.1.xxx IP); is there a way to connect to the shares on the Amahi without VPN (since Amahi is on the 192.168.2.xxx IP)?
Thanks
Shares access without VPN
Re: Shares access without VPN
I would say only if the two subnets can talk to each other. Try accessing via IP address and it does not work, you have your answer.
\\192.168.2.xxx where xxx is the IP address of your HDA.
\\192.168.2.xxx where xxx is the IP address of your HDA.

Yea. I have tried that it does not work. I was wondering if there was a work around. Maybe through a port forward or something like that. The gateway assigned the Belkin router 192.168.1.65 from its IP set. Then the Belkin then assigned HDA 192.168.2.5 but I can't access anything within the 192.168.2.xxx set
Re: Shares access without VPN
Not that I am aware. Most Amahi users run a simpler setup, modem/router to HDA.
