problem with DHCP
Posted: Thu Feb 27, 2014 9:37 am
The other day something happened to my bridged gateway and it stopped beeing bridged. Phoned my provider and they run some upgrade and the bridged it again. And I don't know what happened, and if I managed to do something wrong and mess it up even more I wouldn't bee surprised.
so whats the problem...
After doing a lot of error searching and resetting my router trying out several combination I do have internet again, but only as long as the routers DHCP is turned on. (it was disabled before)
So now I can surf on internet,
- both ssh, gvncviewer is no problem using
- I un-ticked the box "DHCP-server" on the Networks-settings page (re-started it), in the wiki it sai I should go into setup-settings and turn off the server. Looking at the date it might not be applicable for amahi 7. Going into setting->servers there is no DHCP-server (but an DNS-server). Not quite clear if just un-ticking the box is enough or if the problem is that my DHCP-server is "gone".
-No problems to get into the dashboard, but can't open any apps
-it still handels out ip-adresses and my laptop has one from my router and one from amahi
- on the control-panel (amahi.orgs/users) the status is "stopped"
- I can't mount the shares on my laptop (mint 13)
- from gvncviewer internet is not working.
but if I try to unplug amahi, my internet stops working...
so at least I have working internet, and I can reach my files from gvncviewer, but thats it... What happened? any ideas on how to solve the problem
