Map apps to ports?
Posted: Fri Dec 20, 2013 2:26 pm
I would like to access some of my Amahi-managed apps from outside of my network. I followed the guidance to setup external access using the DynDns wildcards and that works - I have a paid DynDns account, so I am able to access several of my apps using that method (i.e. http://myapp.me.homedns.org/). Unfortunately my work recently began blocking all domains that belong to dynamic DNS providers, so I can't access ANYTHING that uses a domain such as homedns.org. I can still access my machine using my IP address, which RARELY changes, but in order to access applications I would either have to map them to specific ports (i.e. http://11.111.111.11:8111/) or have them in sub-directories (i.e. http://11.111.111.11/myapp). Are either of those scnarios possible? If so, how would I go about mapping these apps to either specific ports or to alternate paths?
Thanks for the help!
