I have the AmahiVNC app installed and used to be able to access my HDA easily using UltraVNC on my Win7 PC. However, since a couple of days it only gives me the following error after logging in shortly:
Server Closed Connection: The Server running as Application
Have not changed anything really so I am a bit surprised and hope someone can help me troubleshoot.
VNC is not working anymore
Re: VNC is not working anymore
Have you installed any OS updates? Also have you rebooted? Sometimes that's all it needs.

Re: VNC is not working anymore
It might have installed several security updates as I thought these are necessary to protect me from harm. Rebooted? Yes
Re: VNC is not working anymore
They are, but some times updates cause problems as well. Have you considered uninstalling, reboot, then reinstall? Sometimes that solution works.
If it does not or you do not choose to try it, recommend you check logs in /var/log folder for potential issues.

Re: VNC is not working anymore
Ideally, I would start with installing Amahi 7
Any specific folder for the remote connection logs?

Re: VNC is not working anymore
All logs are usually in the same folder, /var/log on the HDA.

Re: VNC is not working anymore
Which of the many logfiles would it be?
Re: VNC is not working anymore
Look at messages or maybe even a vnc log. Have you tried manually stopping the server, then starting it up?

Re: VNC is not working anymore
I checked here and it mentioned that the built-in Vino does not have logging:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1077704
Then it mentioned to check the auth.log and these are the last entries after I tried to use UltraVNC (I got the "VNC" app from your market installed on my HDA):

Re: VNC is not working anymore
We do not use the built in Vino. Vncserver is the package used so not sure if that changed and caused the issue or what. Have you tried stopping and then starting it manually from the command line? If there are issues, it would most likely tell you then.
