DNS Local Addreses not Working - Troubleshoot Print

Postby muddyfox470 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 2:22 pm

Hello all,

I've run through the trouble shoot script hoping that some wonderful person might be able to help my quandry, I have been asked the post the following to help those that can help me.

I have all servers (DHCP, DNS etc) running, and all the adsl settings disabled, bar the incoming connections.

Accessing apps can be hit and miss, if I forced the windows internet settings proxy to 192.168.1.33 then i can access most of the apps (bar sickbeard etc) but then I have no connection to the outside world (i.e. normal internet) here is what I have got for you.

Post the following in either IRC, or the forums:

Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 4 - DNS resolving for internal hostnames. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://sprunge.us/MfRP

Thank you in advance. Hope you have had an enjoyable Christmas and I wish you the best for the new year.

Is that the correct IP address for your router? Most are 192.168.1.1, not 254.

Hello.

Thank you for your response. Yes my router is fixed at 192.168.1.254, I carried over the settings since I moved house.

Any other clues?

One problem may be the router IP address. The HDA uses 100-254 for DHCP IP addresses. Does your settings match amahi.org profile for your HDA? Have you ran it this way before with no issues?

Ill change the amahi gateway back to 192.168.1.1 and change the routers fixed address.

I have had the setup before, (before i moved to this address), the apps were more stable, but now they seem more off than on. Will give it a try, for my own reference HDA gateway change: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Network ... rk_Set-ups

Thanks

PS. I probably won't get around to it until the new year now, will report back.

Hello, and Happy New Year.

Thanks for your patience, I have changed the servers link to the router to 192.168.1.1 and changed the routers IP back to match.

MOST apps load, however there are the following apps that display the messages such as :

qbittorent - 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable (Port 80) / 502 Proxy Error
fixed with uninstall/reinstall sickbeard - 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable (Port 80)
fixed with uninstall/reinstall Ajax Terminal - 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable (Port 80)
SABnzbd - Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address - No longer supported? - Does the purchased app get refunded?

Is this Fedora 14 or Ubuntu 12.04.1? SABnzbd app was retired and all that purchased were recently given refunds. The current app is SABnzbd Plus:

Are there any other apps that do not work? Was hard to tell from your post.
