VNC access works via Windows but not with Linux

Hi all,

I've been using my HDA for a while now and it's all fine when I use Windows/TightVNC to access the HDA but when I try to use Ubuntu, it doesn't seem to work. Is there a certain VNC client that I should with Ubuntu use to access the HDA? Or do I need to change some VNC settings on the HDA itself?

My HDA is running Fedora 14.

Hope someone can help ;)

Recommend you check out the Ubuntu forums/help on VNC. The built in client should be compatible with the HDA VNC server. I presume you are using Amahi VNC.

Ok, I've got this working now. In Windows I was able to VNC using hda:4 but in Ubuntu I had to use 192.168.0.10:4

I think there's an issue with the workgroup/domain settings on my ubuntu install. Ive tried to joing WORKGROUP within Ubuntu following some instructions that I found but it doesn't seem to have done anything. Am not convinced though that is actually in the same workgroup.

Hmmmm...that could be the same issue that is causing problems with the shares. Not sure where to go next. Maybe an Ubuntu user can jump in and assist.

Hi, same problem here, I need to access a webapp, but can only access hda panel through the IP address if i'm using a linux machine. Everything is fine on Windows.
