Amahi 6 Networking Issues

Postby jammastercd » Fri Dec 02, 2011 8:56 am

I just completed my upgrade to Amahi 6, and I've got some networking issues. I went through the networking troubleshooter with the following result:

Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 4 - DNS resolving for internal hostnames. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://pastebin.com/sPwSNDuH

I also did step 1 of the more networking troubleshooting page. I tried entering "ping hda" into a terminal session, and I get a result unknown host hda. The same was true for "ping router". However, I can successfully ping the external addresses. Also, if I use the literal IP addresses for my hda and router (192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.1), the pings are successful.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello,

First of all, your paste is unavailable. Might be best to provide it in a text file as an attachment to your post.

Secondly, what is your network setup? Is Amahi the sole DHCP/DNS provider for your network? How did you upgrade, new install (Full DVD or Express CD) or upgrade process? Is this a real machine or VM? They behave differently.

Have you restarted everything in your network. Sometimes things get stuck and that is needed.

Looks like some setting was stuck. Now everything appears to be working again. I reran the networking troubleshooting tests, and they all work well.

Sorry for the false alarm!
