I am having great fun exploring the various facits of Amahi so congratulations to all involved, my knowledge is coming on leaps and bounds.
My current 'toy' is ssh. I now log onto my hda from work using putty with private key encryption. Now I would like to use a ssh tunnel to connect iTunes from work to my amahitunes running on my hda.
You never know if I can get it work i may be in a position to wiki it for others

(Over confidence or what!

)

A tip: you probably want to tunnel port 3689 (DAAP), and possibly 5353 (Multicast DNS).
Wiki'ing it would get you brownie points

Just open up 3689 (TCP AND UDP) on your home firewall and point your media player to
http://hdaname.yourhda.com:3689 (where hdaname is what YOUR hda is called)
IF your company allows access to port 3689, you should be in business, but most companies block anything but 21, 80 & 443. It will depend on the proxy server/firewall setup.

Sorted!
Used Putty to create SSH tunnel
and installed RendevousProxy to do whatever that does.
When I have got my head round what I did and can repeat it and get my head round Wiki markup I'll get on the case.

Thank you redeyes for the great wiki, because of you, and the Amahi team, I'm sitting in my hotel room in Ottawa, listening to my music.
I left in a rush today, and brought my wife laptop. I didn't realized that there was no music on hers...Dooh!!
I really didn't expect so much from amahi!!
Thanks,
Salo
