Hi there at Amahi forums,
I really struggle with Amahi calendars and I thing I fully misunderstood some concepts here. So I ask for help on this. I work on a fresh install of Fedora 14 (32bit) and Amahi 6 (actual patch state). I connect to my hda with its IP in my home network and login there with my hda admin account. I go to Settings >>Calendars and build up a new calendar called "mycal". Afterwards I press "Subscribe" to calendars mycal.ics and the iCal-App on my MacOSX starts and tires to connect to this calendar with no success. When I change in iCal the calendar URL to http://IP number/ of my HDA, still no success (please see the screenshots in the attachment to this posting)
What do I do wrong here? Any hint would be very appreciated.

shame on me, I found my misconception, I made by myself in not reading enough the manual for Amahi setup, here especially the information on network setup provided in the slide show on http://www.amahi.org/support/instructions and explained in detail in the FAQ "Does Amahi require to be running as a DHCP server?" on http://www.amahi.org/faq#is-dhcp-server-required. So, the short story is, I used static IP settings on the Clients of my home network and I bypassed there the DNS of Amahi with the DNS entries of my internet provider (see option 3 in FAQ "Does Amahi require to be running as a DHCP server?" ). So Amahi is only accessible via its IP address and the calendar feature does not work properly.

According to option 2 in FAQ "Does Amahi require to be running as a DHCP server?" I changed the DNS entries to the IP number of my Amahi server, i.e. using the Amahi DNS, everything worked well with the calendar feature. But in the URL I still have to use the full domain name I chose for my home network. So no short URLs like http:// calendar/mycal or webcal:// calendar/mycal are possible.

The short URL feature for the calendar function comes with option 1 in FAQ "Does Amahi require to be running as a DHCP server?", when I use the DNS- and the DHCP-Service provided by the Amahi server for my home network clients.
