networking issues

Postby nsbsurfer69 » Mon May 09, 2011 6:58 pm

Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 11 - Router is reachable from clients?. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://amahi.pastebin.com/BHm4aqnA

brief summary of my setup:

dsl router -> linksys wrt54g running ddwrt (192.168.1.1)->hda (192.168.1.130)
l
v
using ddwrt i created at wireless repeater bridge from the first linksys to a second identical router (192.168.1.2) ->xbox 360 and ps3

i can access my shares from any device on my network ( either side of the bridge) but i cannot access the setup pages for the hda remotely. i can get to them on the hda locally but would like to have my monitor back for my other computer. the process of creating the repeater bridge had me put the gateway and local dns of my modem into the first router and the ip address of the first router into those fields on the second router. i have a feeling that might have caused the problems since the hda sends out dhcp and dns to the network from my understanding.

any assistance would be helpful as i am still learning routing and i just started using amahi.

if you goto http://192.168.1.130 does the webpage work?

if
|
|--yes-- Your dns server on these other machines is not being
| assigned. the dns server must be the amahi box, or
| at least a dns server aware of the hda.
|
|--no-- Your hda is experiencing more of a problem, or there is
a valid network problem, ifconfig might have some
valuable information.
