Cannot disable HDA DHCP (still)

Hi
My Amahi works to some extent but
* Amahi Shares occasionaly disconnect
* HDA DHCP refuses to disable
* the shares do not automatically connect when I boot a client PC (Win7)
* the filetransfer speed could be faster (drives are on USB2, oldish PC so maybe understandable)
I want to sort out the first 2 problems first as I think they might be related. The Amahi DHCP service always starts even though I have cleared the 2 checkboxes in the HDA - Settings - Servers - DHCP Server. I have had this problem since day 1 (couple years ago). I do not run the HDA all the time so I must have DHCP in the router. I have a feeling the 2 DHCPs are interfering and causeing the random disconects. I happened to be VNCing into the HDA server at the same time as a Share diconnect happened last night and the VNC disconnected too. So Samba and VNC disconnecting at the same time. A clue I think.
Can other people disable their HDA DHCP servers successfully??
PS I see that my HDA has workgroup HOME and my PCs have workgroup WORKGROUP so I am changeing then to HOME too.
Anyhelp appreciated.
Peter
